Sustainability Is a Legacy: Planting Seeds for the Next Generation

If sustainability is about the future, then who better to bring along for the ride than our kids, right?

Another rewarding and let’s be honest, challenging parts of my sustainability journey has been encouraging my 8-year-old daughter to swap screen time for green time. Convincing a proud member of the iPad generation to trade YouTube and gaming for pulling weeds and watering plants? Let’s just say… has also been a work in progress. 😅

Here’s a funny moment — I pitched what I thought was a brilliant idea:
“How about becoming the Manager of our Green Organic Farm? You can sell the produce to the neighbours and watch your piggy bank grow!”
Her response? With a mischievous grin, “Daddy, I have a better idea… I’ll be a YouTuber or gamer instead!” 🎮😂
So yes, I definitely have my work cut out for me! But I’m optimistic… slow and steady wins the race, right?

Because this journey isn’t just about gardening.
It’s not only about going green.
It’s about growing values that will last a lifetime:

🌿 Patience
🌿 Responsibility
🌿 Healthy living
🌿 Respect for nature
🌿 And learning that the best things in life take time, care, and effort

These little hands will one day shape the world and I want to ensure they do so with heart, awareness, and a deep-rooted love for the planet.
