Coming Soon: My Sustainability Story (1 of 6)
My Journey from Efficient and Productive Buildings to Climate Change Solutions to Food Security
Over the years, I’ve come to realize that sustainability isn’t a job title — it’s a mindset.
• It’s how we plan and design buildings with intention and environmental responsibility.
• It’s how we construct with purpose and care for the future.
• It’s how we manage buildings with safety, efficiency, and sustainability at the core.
• It’s how we power our homes using clean, renewable energy.
• It’s how we travel, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.
• It’s how we eat, share, and teach the next generation.
• And it’s how we respond to challenges — not just locally, but globally.
While working within Central Banks and International Organizations, I saw how poor building management practices were impacting economic performance and productivity across the Caribbean.
It became clear the region needed a new approach, a sustainable infrastructure ecosystem with sustainability integrated at every phase: from design and construction to long-term facility management. However, my mission didn’t stop there, it evolved.
I expanded nationally, organizing Sustainable Facilities Management Conferences and Workshops that brought together public and private stakeholders to explore how infrastructure sustainability drives safety, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
This work soon grew regionally across the Caribbean through events and consultancies rooted in resilience, sustainability, and operational excellence.
My ambition went global during my time at the Green Climate Fund in South Korea, where I served as Transformation and Corporate Performance Manager.
In 2023, I founded H2 Asset Inc. (Barbados) and H2 Asset Guyana Inc., delivering Facilities Management, Construction, and Climate Change Solutions to help Small Island Developing States (SIDS) build resilient infrastructure and energy-efficient systems.
This professional mission eventually made its way into my personal life.
I applied the same mindset at home installing solar panels, driving a fully electric vehicle, growing my own food, and involving my daughter in every step of the journey.
This mission has now become more than just a lifestyle for me. My intention is to make it my legacy
Starting tomorrow, I’ll share a 6-part series:
– Sustainability in Action – From Efficient Buildings to Food Security.
– Each post highlights a chapter of my journey — from boardrooms to backyard gardens, climate strategy to conscious living.
– I hope it inspires you to reflect on your own path — and maybe plant a seed of your own.
– Stay tuned for Part 1: “Where It All Began.”
